The Future of Aerial Data Acquisition Has Arrived at DAS
DAS Geospatial has officially leveled up. With the acquisition of a cutting-edge aerial imaging and LiDAR platform, DAS now leads the charge into the next generation of airborne data collection. At the heart of this transformation are two critical technologies: the RIEGL VUX-240-24 LiDAR sensor and the Phase One iXM-GS120 medium-format camera—integrated through DAS’ custom modular airborne pod system and stabilized with Applanix’s high-precision IMU.
Here’s how these advancements supercharge DAS Geospatial’ s capabilities.
Unmatched Terrain Mapping with VUX-240-24
The VUX-240-24 is a high-performance airborne LiDAR scanner purpose-built for demanding survey missions. Its headline specs are truly transformative:
- Increased Laser repetition rate up to 2.4 MHz
- Enhanced measurement rate up to 2 million points per second
- Improved flight capabilities with altitude of 1,430 meters at 75˚ FOV
What does this mean in the field? DAS can now scan large, complex terrains at higher altitudes without sacrificing point density or accuracy. The dense point clouds and broad field of view allow for fewer passes—saving time, fuel, and crew hours while increasing project efficiency.
Top of the line IMU and GNSS data with Applanix AP+50 AV
Data quality is only as good as the precision behind it, and that’s where the Applanix AP+50 AV IMU system shines:
- Horizontal accuracy: 2 cm
- Roll & Pitch: 0.0025°
- IMU speed: 200 Hz
Whether over mountainous terrain or urban infrastructure, this high-performance GNSS/IMU combo ensures trajectory data is razor-sharp. It minimizes drift and reduces the need for costly ground control points, speeding up post-processing and enhancing geospatial integrity.
Optimized clarity with iXM-GS120
For imagery the Phase One iXM-GS120 is a 120 MP medium-format camera with a global electronic shutter and up to 1/16,000s shutter speed. Designed for high-speed, high-precision aerial imaging, this sensor delivers:
- 12,768 x 9,564 resolution for ultra-detailed orthomosaics
- High dynamic range (80 dB) for consistent capture in variable light
- Weatherproof, IP53-rated housing
The iXM-GS120 ensures blur-free imagery, even from fast-moving aircraft or in tough lighting conditions. It means DAS can operate on more days per year, in more locations, with fewer reshoots.
Integration That Delivers
All this technology is housed in the new DAS HELIUX pod, a lightweight, FAA/EASA-certified mounting system compatible with multiple aircraft platforms. Combined with a custom flight management software and stabilized gimbal mount, the system enables seamless, synchronized data collection.
The result? A single integrated solution that delivers LiDAR, imagery, and telemetry with unprecedented efficiency and accuracy.
Ready for Any Mission
From corridor mapping and topographic surveys to infrastructure modeling, DAS has the platform that meets the full spectrum of geospatial demands. The new system isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a paradigm shift.
